Questions welcomed
You’re curious about Jesus, and you have questions. Some of those questions are about what’s true, like whether any of this holds up. Others are more personal, like whether God cares about your life. Maybe you feel that you need answers to all of them before you can believe.
That instinct makes sense. Wanting to understand before you decide means you’re taking this seriously.
John, one of Jesus’s earliest followers, wrote about someone who didn’t have all the answers either. He had been blind his entire life until Jesus healed him. The religious leaders grilled the man about it, asking who had healed him and how he’d done it.
He couldn’t answer most of it, and he didn’t pretend to. He told them, “One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see.” Frustrated by his answers, the leaders threw him out.
When Jesus heard this, he found the man and asked if he believed in the Son of Man, a title for the one God would send. The man replied, “Who is he, sir? Tell me so that I may believe in him.” Jesus told him he was the one, and the man responded, “Lord, I believe.”
He still had questions, but he knew enough to trust Jesus. Wherever you are, Jesus invites you to get to know him, questions and all.
